A warm, modern web presence for a patient-first dental practice

The Problem

Lumière Cosmetic Dentistry Studio, a modern dental practice offering both general and cosmetic dentistry, had a website that looked like it was built for a hospital — clinical stock photography, sterile blue color scheme, and dense text about procedures. For a practice positioning itself as approachable and patient-first, the website was actively working against them. New patient bookings from the website were a fraction of what referrals brought in.

Pain Points

The clinical aesthetic triggered dental anxiety rather than alleviating it — exactly the opposite of what the practice wanted. Service descriptions were written in medical jargon that patients couldn’t parse. There was no online booking; patients had to call during office hours. The site had zero local SEO optimization despite the practice relying entirely on local patients. Google Maps showed the business but linked to an outdated website with wrong phone numbers.

Our Approach

We redesigned the site with a warm, approachable aesthetic — natural tones, real photography of the practice and team (not stock), and conversational copy that explains procedures in plain language. Service pages are organized by patient need (‘I want whiter teeth’, ‘I have a toothache’) rather than clinical categories. We implemented online appointment booking with available slot visibility. Local SEO received a full overhaul: Google Business Profile optimization, local schema markup, location-specific landing pages, and a review management strategy to surface patient testimonials.

Outcomes

The practice went from 6 online bookings per month to over 40 within four months. More telling than the numbers: patient feedback forms started mentioning the website unprompted — comments like ‘the site made me feel like this wouldn’t be a scary dentist.’ The practice climbed from page 3 to position 2 for ‘dentist near [neighborhood]’ searches. Front desk staff estimated they were fielding half as many scheduling calls, freeing time for in-person patient care. The lead dentist said the website finally represented what walking into the practice actually feels like.
